Workers’ Compensation Defense
San Juan Workers’ Compensation Defense Attorney
The Workers’ Compensation and Employers’ Liability Practice Group represents employers in the defense of workers’ compensation claims, including claims alleging uninsured employer status before the Industrial Commission of Puerto Rico under the State Insurance Fund Corporation’s Law and before the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico court and federal court system in workmen’s compensation-related appeals and litigation. Our lawyers have had exceptional success with coverage disputes involving claims of failure to file the correct estimated payroll statements and failure to pay within terms established by the agency.
Attorneys from the group handle all phases of workers’ compensation compliance processes and litigation, including Industrial Commission hearings and appeals to the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico courts, defending all claims and other actions filed against employers, including third-party claims and claims for industrial torts. They work directly with company representatives and claims department personnel to establish proactive compliance processes and vigorously defend the clients’ interests. In addition to complete litigation services, the attorneys work with our clients to develop appropriate procedures to comply with the filing requirements of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico Workmen’s Accident Compensation law.
