EQB increases emissions fee for Title V sources
The Environmental Quality Board announced on May 30, 2003, that it is increasing the annual fee per ton of emissions charged to major air emission sources.
The increase happens under the Title V operating permit program administered by the Air Quality Area.
According to recent increases affecting the Consumer Price Index, major air emission sources will now have to pay $37.00 per ton of emission on an annual basis. Fees received pursuant to the above are used to cover those costs and expenses associated with maintaining EQB’s operating permit program under Part VI of the Regulation for the Control of Atmospheric Pollution (RCAP).
The hike in the annual emissions fee for major sources stems from the CPI and is required by RCAP Rule 610.
