New solid waste requirements take effect

The Puerto Rico Solid Waste Authority’s Regulation for Pollution Prevention (Regulation Number 7290) took effect on March 14, 2007.

Of particular interest is Rule 707(1), that requires major installations to submit an evaluation or analysis of their pollution prevention practices and projects not later than July 12, 2007.

“Major installations” are those with more than 15 employees.
