Roxana Cruz-Rivera is a principal associate and member of the Tax Law Department. Before joining the Firm, Ms. Cruz-Rivera served as tax advisor for the Secretary of the Puerto Rico Treasury from 2002 to 2005. She is a member of the Puerto Rico Bar Association's Tax Commission and has lectured on tax seminars at such institution as well as in the Puerto Rico Society of Certified Public Accountants. Ms. Cruz-Rivera is also a part-time professor at the Sacred Heart University's Tax Program (MBA). Ms. Cruz-Rivera's practice includes advising and representing clients in administrative procedures and litigation involving income, municipal license and property taxes. Within this practice she has extensive experience representing clients before the Puerto Rico taxing authorities with respect to tax audits, private letter rulings and closing agreements. She has also dealt with and advised clients as to complex issues of income, corporate taxation and reorganizations under both local and federal laws.
