Maria Patricia Lake is a shareholder in the Corporate and Banking Law Department of the Firm. Her practice involves all areas of corporate, banking and real estate law. She has counseled clients in all matters regarding real estate developments from commencement to completion, including, the purchase of the real estate, the review of construction loan documents, segregation of parcels, preparation of restrictive covenants and homeowner's association documents, preparation of related contracts (architects, contractors, project managers, etc.), preparation of condominium documents and the closings of the sales of the units. Ms. Lake has worked in the preparation of residential, commercial and mixed use condominiums. She also does work in connection with commercial loans, representing lending institutions in the preparation and execution of all loan and collateral documents. Ms. Lake currently does substantial work in the area of loan restructuring and workouts, analyzing bank loan documents and collateral and preparing loan workout documentation. Ms. Lake also has vast experience in sales and acquisitions, representing both sellers and purchasers, in both the sale of assets and stock, and in connection with the due diligence process and the preparation of all related documents such as the letter of intent, purchase agreement and all other ancillary documents. Also, she has experience in franchising law, representing clients in the preparation of master franchise system, in the purchase of a franchise and in the review of all related franchising documents. Ms. Lake is on the Board of Director of Hogar Cuna de San Cristobal, a foster home for young children, located in Caguas, Puerto Rico and is a board member of the Puerto Rico Notre Dame Alumni Association.
