Gretchen M. Mendez-Vilella is a member of the Environmental Law Practice Group of the Firm's Corporate and Banking Law Department.  Ms. Mendez-Vilella has ample experience assisting industrial and commercial clients in matters of compliance with the federal, Commonwealth and municipal environmental standards regulating hazardous substances, wastes, air pollution, industrial discharges, stormwater, noise, franchises, earth crust extraction, recycling and hazardous communication.  She regularly assists our clients by providing legal analysis, designing effective environmental compliance assurance programs and defending against or resolving environmental enforcement actions.  Clients also seek her counsel on matters of due diligence/all appropriate inquiries, permitting strategies, environmental permits processing, auditing and self-disclosure, plant closure, liability transfer, and decommissioning, decontamination and demolition projects.  She is skilled at delivering creative solutions that afford our clients the much needed flexibility to remain competitive in this ever changing market while achieving compliance with applicable environmental laws.  Ms. Mendez-Vilella is also a lecturer on Solid Waste, Clean Water Act, Title V permitting, auditing and self disclosure, environmental permitting and all appropriate inquiries standards for environmental due diligence in real estate transactions.
